Ode To Amelie
Where do you begin and where do I end?
We are one eternity, we are one Celtic knot,
We are one sacred shape,
We are one line intertwining and always connecting,
Always the same but never identical;
We are sacred space and our family is divine,
The heavens opened,
The clouds expanded,
The stars shined brighter,
The moon smiled,
The ocean laughed,
The earth hummed, “OHMMMMmmmmmm”
And our daughter entered this realm….
I LOVE YOU
I’m glad you chose us and I can’t wait to share this life with you.
You are tiny but you are eternal, expansive.
You will seem young, but you are older than I.
We have sat together,
Convening as women for centuries.
You are my sister and my mother,
My teacher and my friend…
You are my daughter, But only for this short time.
We are spirits of the sea,
Feathers of the wind,
Scents on the breeze.
We are ephemeral, yet infinite,
We are always here but never have been;
We are daughters to the sea,
Sisters to the wind,
Aunts to the moon,
And mothers’ of fire.
We are infinite, eternal and always ephemeral.
We ARE just ONE long BREATH.
